David Harding, Pastor

Dave has served as pastor of SPPC since planting the church in 2002. Originally from Jacksonville, Dave came to saving faith in Jesus Christ during his high school years through the influence of his parents and his church.  After college, he worked in the financial planning field for several years before sensing God’s call to pastoral ministry. Dave attended Reformed Theological Seminary and then served churches in Georgia and Alabama, prior to planting SPPC. He completed his doctoral studies at Covenant Theological Seminary in 2013. Dave and his wife, Lynn, have two daughters, Lindsey and Sarah. In his free time, Dave enjoys being with family and friends, and rarely turns down an opportunity to go hunting or surfing.

Phil Boddie, Elder

Phil has been with the SPPC family since our first meeting in 2002, and has served as an elder since 2005. Having grown up in Norfolk, Virginia, Phil attended Temple University where he received a degree in Pharmacy.  Shortly after college, Phil heard the gospel from a friend and received Christ as his Savior and Lord. He and his wife, Carolyn, were married in 1987 and have two grown children, Alyssa and Jared.

Steve Curtiss, Elder

Steve has served as an elder at SPPC since 2012. He grew up in Tampa and attended Jesuit High School. It was during a church youth group campout that Christ revealed Himself to Steve in the Scriptures, and brought him to saving faith. Steve met his wife, Patricia, while they were in high school and they were married in 1984. When he’s not working, Steve enjoys playing soccer, tennis and watching his 4 grown sons in their sports-climbing adventures.

Derik Jenkins, Elder

Originally from Denver, Derik has lived in Florida since his high school years, during which he met his wife, Laura. They were married in 2005 and have 3 children: Ben, Riley, and Wesley. Derik came to saving faith in Christ in 2009 through the preaching of the gospel and seeing its transforming power in Laura’s life. Derik is currently enrolled at Trinity College, working on his Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Theological Studies. When he’s not studying and writing about theology, Derik enjoys entertaining family and friends at his home for fellowship and games.

Chad Martin, Elder

Chad has lived most of his life in the Tampa Bay area, with the exception of 5 years spent teaching English abroad in South Korea. It was during this period abroad when Chad came to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When he’s not working in the insurance field, Chad enjoys reading biographies, going to USF football games, and eating Korean food.

Bob Burkham, Deacon

Bob began serving as a Deacon at SPPC in 2015. He moved to Florida in 1990 where he met and married his wife, Barbara. They have two grown sons. Bob was active in the church most of his life, however, it was shortly after he arrived in St. Petersburg that he came to truly know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Since their retirement, Bob and Barbara’s greatest joy is extended times with their granddaughter. They also enjoy visiting historical and Presidential sites throughout the U. S.

Mike Eldridge, Deacon

Mike is a retired veterinarian, having practiced in St. Petersburg for 32 years. He grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. Mike came to faith in Christ through the ministry of the Christian Reformed Church, and the leading of his late wife, Margaret. While at SPPC, the Lord introduced Mike to his new wife, Kerry. They live in the Crescent Heights area with their dog, Geena. Mike enjoys woodworking, and he and Kerry canoe and hike together. Between their combined families they have five children and seven grandchildren. Mike has been a Deacon at SPPC since 2017.

David Shadle, Deacon

Originally from Pennsylvania, a career change led David to move to St. Petersburg in 2014. He and his wife, Beth, have been married since 1983 and they have two grown children and 3 precious grandchildren. David attended Shippensburg University for Marketing, and came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1978 at a Campus Crusade ministry outreach event. He has served as Deacon at SPPC since 2017.

Michele Hurm, Administrative Assistant

Michele has served as SPPC’s Administrative Assistant since 2005. Originally from New York, she has made Florida her home for 27 years. Michele came to trust in Jesus Christ in 1982 through the ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Michele and her husband, Blair, have one daughter, Hannah. While she’s not keeping things running smoothly at SPPC, Michele, enjoys floral photography and visiting State Parks.
