SPPC began in the fall of 2001, when Dave Harding was called by the Southwest Florida Presbytery as the church planter/organizing pastor. A Bible study began meeting in January 2002, and our first public worship service was held on October 13, 2002 at the Muvico theaters downtown St. Pete, where we worshiped for 4 years. We were organized as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in September, 2005. In January 2011, the congregation purchased the current property on 83rd Avenue NE. By God’s sovereign grace, we are seeing people’s lives transformed by the power of the gospel. Jesus is fulfilling His promise in Matthew 16:18 where he says, “I will build My church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”.
